Postgres Package Manager by BigSQL

Our Postgres Package Manager is a simple and powerful way to install PostgreSQL and it's family of components from the command line into a self contained and relocatable directory. Take a look at our PGC tutorial to learn more.

Install BigSQL PGC

Paste one of the below commands at a terminal/command prompt, from the directory you wish to install bigsql/pgc. A bigsql subdirectory is created with everything you need to run pgc commands.


||   At the Linux or OSX Terminal prompt use this command:

     python -c "$(curl -fsSL"


    At the Windows command prompt, opened with Run as administrator, use this command:

     @powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy unrestricted -Command "iex ((new-object net.webclient).DownloadString(''))"


Run BigSQL PGC Commands

Note that production quality versions of PostgreSQL are presently pg93, pg94, pg95, pg96 & pg10.

To install and run the PostgreSQL version of your choice type:

  cd bigsql
  pgc install pg10
  pgc start pg10

Please test pg11 same as above, but, it's BETA & NOT to be used for production. (v11 Beta 3   New! Aug 9)
